Natural Vistas

Lose yourself in even more redwoods at the Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve, just 2.5 miles north of the Stavrand. Admire 1,400-year-old majestic trees and learn why insiders prefer this park to the more-touristed Muir Woods.  Take a quick jaunt to the Jenner coast to Goat Rock Beach, part of the 17-mile stretch of the Sonoma Coast State Park, where you can spot whale migrations and visit a bustling sea lion colony.  Or, pack a picnic lunch for the low-key Riverfront Regional Park with its small lakes, BBQ pits, and multi-use trails — dogs allowed!

Northwood
Golf Club

Consistently rated as one of the best short courses in the world, the Northwood Golf Club is only minutes away in Monte Rio, meandering down the Russian River.  Designed by the famous Dr. Alister MacKenzie (who also created the Augusta National), this unique and beautiful course is set amidst the towering Redwoods.

SUP Odyssey

Explore the Russian River atop a stand-up paddleboard instead of a traditional canoe (or kayak) provided by the Stavrand. Offering lessons and instruction, this is a great introduction to SUP, and affords the chance to explore the river in a mindful way.
