Our Complete Renovation
The name “Stav-rand,” in Norwegian (handed down as the family name of Emily’s late mother, whose own parents were innkeepers in Vermont in the early 1980s), conjures the image of a church (Stav) on a rand (hill) – or in the case of the hotel, an historic hillside estate that encourages contemplation in its own way. Additionally, it should be noted, that Emily’s mom was a travel agent who introduced her to five-star properties across the country. Maribeth inspired Emily’s love of hospitality and famously declared, “I consider camping a hotel without room service.” In her honor, the Stavrand will resemble camping only in its forested setting!

For the team at the Stavrand, the Russian River Valley is more than just a delightful destination - it's our home. We welcome the opportunity to partner with local organizations to introduce our guests to all that the Russian River Valley has to offer. If you're part of what makes our community great, please contact us about how the Stavrand can support you!
