BELDEN HOUSE

Built in 1922 and thoughtfully renovated in 2021, the Belden House is the elegant and charming heart of the hotel. This historic mansion (registered Sonoma County Landmark No. 129) was designed by famed architect John Carl Warnecke as the country home of Ralph “Rooster” Belden, who resided here with his wife and son.  The Belden House features many new designer touches, including chic wallcovering, custom artwork, and upscale, modern furnishings that complement inherited antiques.  All rooms in this building feature a conventional bathroom layout (whereas many bathrooms in the Cazadero and Armstrong Houses provide an open plan vanity and shower area with separate toilet room).  This building also includes the property’s ADA room and the Belden House dining room, living room, and sun room, with two grand fireplaces that remain at the heart of the hotel today.  Rooms 1 through 6 reside at the ground level of the house (where they enjoy their own lounge area), rooms 7 through 9 at the elevated main level, and rooms 10 and 11 at the top floor.  Room 10, the Belden House Premier King is the largest room at the Stavrand, while the other rooms in this building average 175 sq.ft.
